How the PokerStars Bonus Works

Here's how it works. For every dollar that you want to receive of your bonus, you must earn 17 VPPs. Players earn VPPs by playing in real money cash games and tournaments at different rates based on the rake each game takes and other factors. The bonus releases in $10 increments after 170 VPPs are earned for each increment, up until the entire bonus is cleared, or until the bonus expires. The bonus you get for each individual deposit (up to three) have 183 days to be cleared.

For each 170 VPPs the player earns, he or she will have $10 released from their bonus into their real money account, up until the full $200 has been released. Now the player could make another deposit for $300. Again, for each 170 VPPs this player earns at the real money cash games and tournaments, another $10 will be released from the $300 bonus up until the full $300 is earned or until 183 days pass. Finally, once that part of the bonus was cleared, suppose this player deposits another $250. Since he or she has already been credited with $500 worth of first deposit bonus money, the player is only eligible for another $100 in bonus. This $100 bonus is credited at the normal rate of 170 VPPs per $10 released.
